ABOUT US

The handcarved items which you will find here are made in a small Indian village outside Puri in the State of Orissa on the Northeast coast of India.
They are a timeless reflection of a glorious tradition, an unfinished story in stone.
Each piece is handcarved with love and care by skilled artisans out of a hard marbeld Standstone which you will find in the State of Orissa.

The artisans get their skills handed down by their forefathers’ .The tools they use are few and simple and consist mainly of hammers and chisels of various shapes and sizes.  Working alone on each piece gives each statue a special vibe and energy. The progeny of the artisans who have built such magnificient temples as Konark and Jaganath Temple have kept alive the sculptural traditions of their forefathers and their deft hands  chisel and carve exact replicas of the original temple sculptures besides producing a variety of other items.
They so differ from all the imported Buddhas, Gods and other items, which are made by thousands through cement casting or stones, treated by machines who are souless and which are merely decoration.
The pieces you find in our catalogue are artworks  expressed by talented artisans through a stone which has energy on its own.
The photos shown on this website are examples for the pieces which will be made on order if not available in stock.
